SPEAKING FOR GOD
What an awesome responsibility it is to speak for God. In 1 Peter 4:11, Peter an inspired Apostle, makes it very clear how one is to speak for God. He says in that verse, “If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.”
When denominations write rules and regulations and equate them with the Word of God, they do so without the authority of God.
WHAT, THEN, IS THE WORD OF GOD? The Word of God constitutes those 66 books that make up the Bible, which have been inspired by God and preserved by God so that man might know the mind and will of God.
THE OLD TESTAMENT IS INSPIRED BY GOD. 2 Peter 1:20, 21 says, “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” What Moses wrote, what Isaiah wrote, what David wrote, what Jeremiah wrote, what all the Old Testament writers wrote was inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. “Men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
THE NEW TESTAMENT IS INSPIRED BY GOD. The New Testament was written by the Apostles and Prophets of the first century. This is why Paul would say in Ephesians 2:19, 20, that “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” Paul is saying that Apostles and Prophets laid the foundation. THEY WROTE OUR NEW TESTAMENT. Jesus said the Apostles would speak for God. Look at John 14:26, 15:26, and 16:13. Jesus said that these Apostles would be taught by the Holy Spirit, remember what Jesus said by the Holy Spirit, and testify about Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. Listen, your New Testament is the very Word of God.
ROUGH WINTER IN NEW JERSEY
We have had our share of snow, cold weather, and sickness in New Jersey. But, we still remain on the firing line for our Lord. It is very important that we continue to reach out to others with the Gospel of Christ. Please continue to pray for us as we seek to build the Lord’s Church. The message from Jesus is still relevant: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Mark 16:15.
Thank you for your support of this ministry. We are here because you care. Souls have been won to Christ because you care.
